
Profile
She was born in Kyoto, Japan. She studied architecture and interior design at the Kyoto College of Art, and industrial design at the Polytechnic University of Milan. After completing her Masters Degree in Design Management at the Polytechnic University of Milan, she began her career as a freelance designer. As a freelance designer, she created works that are in accordance with the locally-available materials and prevailing social backgrounds. At the same time, she worked for Italian and Japanese companies on various projects designing lighting equipment, sofas and beds, bathroom products, mobile phones, furniture, stands for trade fair shows, exhibition spaces, and home interiors. She started practicing in Japan after returning from New York in 2006. Drawing her professional experiences with several Japanese manufactures, she started a private venture focusing on works and designs that lay emphasis on the rapidly changing environment, the prevalent social situations, and people’s daily lives. Her venture deals with all aspects of design from products to spaces.
